Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Is there an area in your life where you have veered off course? Perhaps you are missing the mark in a personal or professional goal, or in a relationship. If so, it’s time to get back on track!

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, my family and I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay on the Virginia Beach oceanfront. As I was reflecting on our time there while looking at pictures, I couldn’t help but recall the affect the power of the ocean waves had on us.

Every day as we approached the beach we would plop our cooler and towels down in the sand before jumping in the ocean. After only a few minutes of playing it was apparent that we were unknowingly being pulled down the beachfront by the force of the waves. Within just minutes we would be far from our cooler and towels. To keep from drifting endlessly down he beach we had to make a conscious effort to focus on the point where we wanted to be. Only then did we keep from letting the waves pull us from our desired location.

The same is true in life. Often we start out with a goal or objective in mind. Perhaps it’s in relation to our faith, education, career, diet and exercise, a relationship, etc. However, before we realize it the tide of life has pulled us far from where we wanted to go. Unknowingly we have drifted so far off course we can no longer even see where it is we wanted to be.

When this happens we can often feel defeated and hopeless.

When you consider your life today, is it possible you have been pulled off course in a particular area? Have you let the waves of life push you in a direction you never intended to go?

If so, it’s time to stop drifting and get back on course. Use God’s Word as your focal point.

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Trust in God today and that He will help you reach your destination. Life is too short to let dreams, goals, and relationships die. Too much is at stake.

In what area might you need to get back on course today? What is the first step you will take?
